Ashfall fossil bed by www.mawhamba.net
Under the 360 acres of rangeland purchased by the Foundation in 1986 lies a treasure trove of prehistoric animal remains buried by volcanic ash 10 million years ago. Ashfall’s one-of-a-kind Rhino Barn, which enclosed the excavation and protects paleontologists who continue to work on the bed of fossilized bones, was provided with donated funds that came through the Foundation.
